LAST BLOG OF MY LIFE!!!

I thought i would take this time to celebrate the fact that i dont have to do anymore blogs after this!!! AMAZING
I dont know if we can do this or not but i want to talk about a film that we didnt see in class. This film i am going to write about is Equilibrium.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
If you haven't seen this movie it is amazing and you need to watch it I have it if you want to borrow it.
I will probably give away some of the movie in this post so dont read it if you haven't seen it.
Equilibrium takes place after WWIII that is the biggest war and almost takes out the human race. so in order to prevent war everybody on earth is forced to take a drug that kills emotion. and throughout the film there is a character who is a law enforcer go through the process of getting Off the Dose. Which is Illegal which is interesting because it goes against everything that he has ever been taught. Throughtout this film it shows that without human emotion breath is just a timer ticking away seconds of one life. and almost there would be no point of life without human emotion. It truly is what makes humans different than everyone else.
I enjoy it because it has a perfect mix of action in it and artistic meaning. which is usually not to common. there are usually films that are on one of the extreams and when there is a perfect combination its beautiful.
This film was overlooked because it came out the same time as the Matrix but let me assure its way better than matrix (maybe not the first one) but its really good!
NO MORE BLOGS!!

WORK IN PROGRESS

I looked and looked for a picture of this film and it made me sad because i could not find a photo at all which is truly sad. Well I actually just spent another half hour looking for one with on avail so this is the bes i could do Sorry guys
Here it is
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I know Depressing
but anyways back to the animation
This animation was one of my favorites of the ones that we watched over the course of the semester. I enjoyed this one a lot because I think that it shows the creative and imagination of a child. Throughout the course of the film there are two characters that are "creating" this creature. And talking about how great they are and they have no need for this little girl in and make it great. but when they start it up it a horrendous peace of crap that does nothing like it is supposed to. then the girl comes and takes a bunny out of a hat and blows it into the heart of the other creature. which i kinda think that is she is using her imagination to make this creature completely what it is supposed to be. Perfect. then the "creators' being the old men don't even act like what the girl does was even impressive. I found a comment the the thinker of the group interesting and kind of ironic. he said "Every masterpiece is composed of 99% inspiration and 1% perspiration...its the perspiration I worry about." and he believes himself to be the one who gives Inspiration. Well really what he created in hardly anything but when this little girl comes in she can see what it could become and what it is and she bridged the gap.
Also the final scene is interesting because it has all of her inventions on a beautiful landscape and then the one that was created by the inventors with out the girls help comes in and falls down. which i though to be very funny but when you think about it what they make is always shortcoming what she can make so that could be symbolic too

The Dog who was a Cat on the Inside

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I enjoyed this film mainly because how it talked about how having conflicting personalities and how you truly want to act one way but its not "proper" for you to do because of where you are in life or what people expect you to do is different that what you truly want to do. And i believe that it accurately displayed that.
i believe that this film really talks about nonconformity and just being content with you truly are and when you find someone who is different inside you can be more content being you self with some one who is different like you and wants to act who they truly are
i liked how these artist went about creating the storyline and how the dog had to go through all this conflict and when he was at his worst struggling with who he was truly inside he meet someone like him who he could be content with
i'm kinda realizing right now that for all if my blogs i have been way short on my word count because i realized i was only at 150 words back there and thats about what i written for the majority of my blogs so i kinda feel bad about that but whatev.
anyways this film really impressed me and it believe that it gave the viewer a senst that it ok to be differnt
Ok Lastly...
3 BLOGS DONE 2 TO GO!!!!

TERRY TATE IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON EVER!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Not Really but its fun like that
I really dont think alot of the films that we watched the other day had really any artistic meaning besides humor. I mean i really would look into these films and besides catching a persons eye and make them laugh i couldnt find a meaning behind them. Which is wierd because i would think that leeper wouldnt show things that dont have any meaning behind them so i think they must have meaning. however it could be just for the heck of it and to get a good laugh in which is never a bad thing :P
I kinda would love that to happen in a real office i would totally go right back at him :P lol
I NEED MORE TO WRITE.
Ok specific Scene in that film: I loved the part where the fat guy threw the cup in the wrong bin and terry just came in there and was intimidating him and he ended up crying and hugging the garbage bin that was amazing
then the commentary was freaking awesome too i loved how the boss acted like he didnt even care about his employees health
Thats about it

George Lucas In Love

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
this movie makes me :)
Well tell ya what guys...Its time to make up blogs ....YEA!!! not really but here i go anyways :P
Alright George Lucas in love was a really funny film. After I watched it, well it basically made my day. Not to state the obvious but it was one of those films where you watch and (if you watched star wars) it just really made you crack up because of all the parallels to the movie hitting you but its actually real life and on a college campus. i think my favorate parallel was the one with Jaba the Hut and the fat guy being fed pizza by the woman. i thought that was hilarious.
however i think we all knew what was going ot happen at the end of the film when they were about to kiss. at least i could see it comming but the way the mom reacted and the awkard silence was basically ammzing

Bunny!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Well now this bunny is one messed up bunny...lol. I found this to be funny but disturbing at the same time while I was watching it. I think anybody who has seen the movie would agree with me. Because its distubing becasue this bunny is old..barly can move and is basically half dead and he gets annoyed with a bug that keeps on annoying him and he really can do anything abt it. however for the same reasons that is what makes it funny because he is so incapable from doing anything that he does a lot of stupid things that seem to be funny.
Now all that stuff before the ending is kinda not that important but when he puts the bug into the oven and it starts to glow...that is where the art in this piece starts being really obvious. I believe that this artist may have believed in reincarnation because when the bug was in the oven and it started glowing and rumbling i dont know what else it would mean except something supernatural. Then when the bunny climbs into the oven and there is a light and he start FLYING to it, it really seems like the artist is talking about reincarnation. the Interesting thing that I thought abt was that the bunny didnt have a choice to be what animal he wanted to be and he ended up being one of the most annoying animals there is and also the bug that he hated so much. So maybe the point that theyre trying to get across is dont judge until you have walked a mile in someone elses shoes...But idk
Let me know What you think!

Colateral Damage

I HATE Window Operating Systems!!!!!!!!
I bassically just finished this blog and guess what Yea Internet Explorer decided to die on me for no apparent reason. *Just 5-6 months til i get my mac. Just 5-6 months til i get my mac.Just 5-6 months til i get my mac.*
Im just going to keep on telling myself that

ok well Im just going to use colateral damage the film we saw in class not the actual film as a piece to completly slaughter all my negitive ideas over. And not to say it was a bad film it was good i just really need someplace to let my outlet of anger toward our tiny little christian perspective and lifestlye. Ok to start out with, the film we had today was great it really was...however what was the point of the verse at the end? I dont even remember it. it wasnt even that big of part of the film I believe some quote from a philosopher would have been so much more effective because I know plenty of Athiest and i know if they need some wisdom they arnt going to run to the bible ok. However they will accept Aristotle, Plato, or any of those philosophers because they may talk about god but they dont talk abt the god of christianity. And when you throw a piece of scripture into a film I believe it will become less effective just for that face

This leads me into my next rant. I never want to be a "christian artist" i would love to work in the secular world and live with the artists who addreess suicide and cutting and sex because they dont have anything to limit themselfs they can put out whatever they believe and they dont care what christian or not. So I would rather be in a secular culture making great art with no boundaries than in a christian enviornment with boundaries

Now back to the film, this film is fairly simple: Child playing, Bombs shakes ground, People running away, realization of bombs, Adult takes kid away from where a bomb was abt to land. This is powerful and is talking abt colateral damage straight on. however, why so blunt. it seems like alot of our work is just a Story and really more than likely we've heard something like it before. And maybe bc its bc im a still photographer but I love the abstractness of a single picture. because it's not Hand feeding you the story line or the actuall meaning behind the photograph. its so much more abstract. And i believe that if the viewer isnt left with a feeling of needing to interpret the peice or confusion then i didnt do my job correctly

And yes for all you who want to defend this film I realize that it gets it point across and does a pretty good job of it expecially from freshman. But i just needed vent on a piece so i did it on this one

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ok im officially getting all my photography from www.deviantart.com best photography site ive seen in awhile.
Now unto the film.... Very interesting...
I'm first going to address the fact that the owner cut up the dog and put it on the railing of the porch
Animal Crewlty Sucks... Just to get that out there expecially twards dogs, cats on the other hand....
But i dont think that really was what the artist was meaning when he showed that. I think it really was representing that when something that is inconvient to us we just shut it up or block it out then when the thing that we shut out we need we come running to it expecting it to help without question. The tearing apart of the dog really could mean the tearing apart of a friendship then the building back up of one when put back together. Then considering the dog was loyal and usefull thats what the Wife kept and then its in a vicious circle again.
Thats all i can say I've written like 6 blogs today to catch up
I love my dog!!!

Music

I LOVE MUSIC
One of my biggest passions of this world (thats why im a music minor) I'm actually listening to Pink Floyd right now and It is totally fitting my mood. I just love how music can change emotion of any person of any culture at anytime
Music is extreamly cool that way and I wish it was better at it. But in relation to film Music is extreamly important to how the viewer reacts to the film. I know sometime in film when I know what s going on i just close my eyes and visualize what is happening. I hope that i will one day become a good enough of musican/composer that i will be able to use it with my film stuff as well. Considering that these are my to biggest passions in life that would be amazing. i Dont know exactly how I'll be able to do that but I really wish there

Girl and Candy

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
K I Couldnt find a picture of the Film so this will have to work :)
This was a really good film. This child was extreamly crafty and sneaky. and i love how the producer makes you think the child stole that candy the whole time and at the end she comes through for us and restores that innocence in the child. But everything in the film from the start - her picking up the rocks and stealing the money to the end- where she wont eat her meal makes you think that and i find that really intersting.
What i think the artist is trying to get at is that even though there is no mother in this relationship children can still love and care for their father and in a world that it seems that children usually connect with the mother and the father gets less time with the children expecially because of divorce
and again this really just shows a strong relationship between the two (father and daughter) expecially since the father never got mad when the child broke the eggs and just that the daughter would do something that would get her in trouble to make her father happy.
IDK let me know what you think

"Ryan"

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I’m just going to throw this out there... I LOVE CG!!!!!!
I really actually loved CG way before I saw this cartoon from a couple of films like Final Fantasy and Appleseed. Now I know these aren’t considered "Art Films" but hey a lot of the stuff out there isn’t Art material.
Ok I must admit thought this is the first ART CG type thing I've seen and it was kind of a rushed thing at the end of the period so I didn’t get to analyze as much as wanted to. Ill tell you the stuff I wrote down though
I believe that the absence in the head and all the other parts of the body is the wear and tear of society and the simplification of what we actually are and get to the down to earth part of us.
The thing that intrigued me the most out of this whole animation project is the part where on the character that is doing the interview he has this thing that just wraps around his head and shuts him up. And it could be like a thing like what I call a filter basically what you say. And when in an awk. Situation he just shuts up or stops talking or something
Another interesting thing I notices was when there would be an imagination of something or something expanding the brain there would be theses threads that would come out of their head but then recede back into their head after they're done.
And everything that was happen mentally was actually played out which I thought was cool. Like when Ryan senses wanted alcohol the bottle would cry out and when the narrator tried to act good the came a halo over his head
I really enjoyed this peace but think we should watch it again.
Peace out guys

A Feather Tale/La Basse Cour

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
All right... This is an intense peace of Film... This cuts straight threw everything and just gets to the point. The storyline deals with a woman who is mistreated sexually and is unable to do anything about. The artist uses symbolism in 2 ways. The 2 ways are through the chicken and the egg. Now I don’t know where this artist is living or any details so in some ways this may be shooting in the dark but idk. Ok well I viewed that the symbolism of the Chicken and the Egg is that where ever the artist was living women were still like property to men. And it seemed like men don’t even look at women as human but rather as animals or sex toys. And the males would use the women how the wanted striping them of all their dignity (which i think was happening while the man was ripping all the feathers off the chicken) and using them for what they wanted and then leaving them by themselves after they're done and being able to see what they had but not have anything.
Then even though the male in this situation doesn’t see this but the women cries and is depressed and even though they're treating them like animals they have Human emotions and the psychological scaring that will occur due to being treated like animals or objects
This is an extremely depressing film that really shows what some women have to go through and how they are treated in some countries and the reasons to why it should be changed.

When Life Parts

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
GRR ok this post is going to suck because i allready wrote it once and the stupid comp. didnt want to keep it and it really pisses me off
Well I couldnt find a pic from the actuall movie so this one will have to do and i find it funny so it will have to work
Ok Im going to sum up alot because I really dont feel like retyping all of this stuff again
This peace in my mind was all about the unknown, death God and all that Jazz
I believe how the kids were raised really effected how they viewed these different aspects. And more specifically how their father role acted when they were young. because some kids who were beat didnt believe in god but others thought god was this lovign person and i believed that shows that they had a loving dad
I really like Psyc. so That type of stuff will come up in my blogs alot
But i really would like to see what these kids went through to come up with these conclusions

2 things that stook out to me was when one of the kids sayed that gods mind was split up into 1000 peaces and each peace was for a different person.
and the other one was the Soul liveds insid of you lik a goast and keeps your heart pumping

The reason i like these is because it shows the creativity of a child and that the simplicity of their mind is awesome and how even in their inmaturity they teach us alot
expecially where i am at i wish i could just trust that there is a god and know what im really sopposed to do with my life but i really am not sure so i wish i could go back to the simplicity of a child however the culture and world has corrupted me and its hard for me to do that

"Headhog in the Fog"

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This peace to me seemed very misterious to me from the start of the film.
Ok I'm going to honest just about this type of animation all around. Im not a big fan of it. I mean It's all cool and the Frame by frame stuff works but it just really loses an aspect of reality to me. Maybe it's just because it really reminds me of a childrens book but i believe that a childrens book and movies should have a distinct difference because then if theres not all your doing is adding more pictures and audio. Even thought this totally gets it point across and makes it seem alot more of a childrens film i perfer the realism and maybe it wouldnt work for this type of film but i dont know...There's a reason that my Concentration in Dv Studio guys
However this was a good over all peace and i really thought that the empathy/creulty from the other animals was very interesting...
The Dog and the Fish/aligator or whatever it is where very interesting and the 2 animals that really just helped him out when he needed it the most, and when he was in a dark place and really just needed help after he was scared or about to drown they came and helped without anyhting in return.
The other two animals, the bat and the owl where interesting and the most ambiguous creatures to the headhog. that actually scared him alot. The owl just completley confused me because i didnt know exactly what his role in the intire film was to do except to add the night terror but besides that i dont know why it seemed like a big role in the film

Our Live Action/DV Cenima Project

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ok Wow....
(I think i start every blog like that...lol)
I'm just going to jump in right now and say that I thought I knew alot more then I do... and it sucks. I kinda had an Epiphany while thinking about this project. and it was that even though I've had "experience" in Dv cenima I really havent. I have been doing this type of stuff for the last 3-5 yearish and i had a mentor above me and i would always assist him and see the process and different compostions and really how the lighting and audio went. But the problem that this mentor had is that he really never just let me shot by myself, then when he did he expected alot out of me when i didnt have the technical experience. I believe that alot of people think that i can do these awesome things for Film (at least back at home) and really none of it was me. because no matter what i did i either had this mentor looking over my sholder or showing me what to do. i really feel like that has crippled my creativity. however now that i realize how bad of a videographer i am, it's something that i totally want to do more of. (idk if its just me but it always that i seem to enjoy to do things that i suck at... idk) however that can be a good thing
well i really enjoyed this project even though we had some scheduling and different problems it turned out somewhat good. What i had viewed in my head was nothing like it and what was in my head was alot better but eh
Sweet let me know what you think
Justin
